There is much folklore and tradition about the pearl. In fact so much history accompanies this stone that five months claim it as a birthstone. You are a lucky girl if this beautiful gemstone is your birthstone. I have been fortunate to run across some really nice pearls to purchase. These freshwater rice pearls are among those really nice pearls. They are A quality pearls which are becoming increasingly difficult to find. I wanted to use these pearls in a beautiful earring so I started off with a sterling silver french earwire. These have a round pearl that is surrounded by a smooth cabochon of sterling silver which is then surrounded by granulations of sterling silver. I wanted to mimic this look throughout the earrings so on the top and the bottom of the freshwater rice pearls, I added a Bali, sterling silver rondelle. The total look is eye catching to say the least. There is also a tiny ball of sterling silver on the bottom of the freshwater rice pearls. There are three pearls on each earwire. These are loose and will sway as you move your head. While I have put them in the Glamour Collection, they would certainly be appropriate for many other occasions such as a wedding, a prom or any time where you are dressed up for a special occasion.
